Bio : Dr. Siddhartha Bhattacharyya did his Bachelors’s in Physics, Bachelor’s in Optics and Optoelectronics, and Masters in Optics and Optoelectronics from the University of Calcutta, India in 1995, 1998 and 2000 respectively. He completed PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Jadavpur University, India in 2008.

He is the recipient of the University Gold Medal from the University of Calcutta for his Masters. He is the recipient of several coveted awards including the Distinguished HoD Award and Distinguished Professor Award conferred by Computer Society of India, Mumbai Chapter, India in 2017, the Honorary Doctorate Award (D. Litt.) from The University of South America and the South East Asian Regional Computing Confederation (SEARCC) International Digital Award ICT Educator of the Year in 2017. He has been appointed as the ACM Distinguished Speaker for the tenure 2018-2020. He has been inducted into the People of ACM hall of fame by ACM, USA in 2020. He has been appointed as the IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Visitor for the tenure of 2021–2023. He has been elected as a full foreign member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and the Russian Academy of Engineering. He is the founding President of the Kolkata Branch of the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA), Hong Kong.

He is currently serving as a Principal, Rajnagar Mahavidyalaya, Birbhum. He served as a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Christ University, Bangalore. He served as the Principal of RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata, India during 2017-2019. He has also served as a Senior Research Scientist in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of VSB Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic (2018-2019). Prior to this, he was the Professor of Information Technology of RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata, India. He served as the Head of the Department from March, 2014 to December, 2016. Prior to this, he was an Associate Professor of Information Technology of RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata, India from 2011-2014. Before that, he served as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Information Technology of University Institute of Technology, The University of Burdwan, India from 2005-2011. He was a Lecturer in Information Technology of Kalyani Government Engineering College, India during 2001-2005. He is a co-author of 6 books and the co-editor of 88 books and has more than 400 research publications in international journals and conference proceedings to his credit. He has got two PCTs to his credit. He has been the member of the organizing and technical program committees of several national and international conferences. He is the founding Chair of ICCICN 2014, ICRCICN (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), ISSIP (2017, 2018) (Kolkata, India). He was the General Chair of several international conferences like WCNSSP 2016 (Chiang Mai, Thailand), ICACCP (2017, 2019) (Sikkim, India) and (ICICC 2018 (New Delhi, India) and ICICC 2019 (Ostrava, Czech Republic).

Welcome to the American Journal of Science and Engineering’s inaugural issue. Our goal is to provide quality research articles on a wide range of scientific and engineering topics, in an open access format. We want research to be widely available to the scientific community. The current issue is emblematic of how this journal will proceed. There are papers on malware analysis, Internet of Things, data modeling, and antenna design. This broad range of topics is how we want every issue to be. In this first edition of “From the Editor’s Desk” I wanted to communicate what our vision for this journal is, and how it fits into the cornucopia of scientific literature.

Science and engineering are rapidly developing. There are new innovations in nanotechnology, data mining, machine learning, quantum computing, and more. However, even traditional science and engineering topics such as chip design, systems modeling, and communications protocols are also experiencing rapid improvements. There are always new innovations. The cornerstone of science is publishing research. This allows other researchers to review your work. They can then build on that research, perhaps taking it into new directions the original author never imagined. As a scientist, one of my greatest thrills is seeing my own work cited by a paper going in a direction I never envisioned. This is one reason we insist on being open access. There are some wonderful scientific papers that are difficult to obtain. Often the journal articles are only available by subscription, which is sometimes prohibitively high. So many times, research can only be accessed if one is associated with a university whose library has access to that particular journal. However, there is a growing trend to academic journals that are open access.

We take open access one step farther. We do not charge a fee. We do this by everyone involved in this journal is working on a volunteer basis. The journal and its website are being hosted at no charge by a group of institutions and people who have also supported several engineering and scientific conferences. This allows us to not charge the reader nor charge the author. Now that will undoubtably lead to a high number of submissions. And volume is no substitute for quality. So, before we even announced the first issue, we assembled a highly qualified editorial/reviewer team to provide rigorous peer review for all papers submitted. We provide the biographies of all our editorial team on the journal website. Currently that team consists of 11 researchers who are themselves well published researchers, and they are professors representing 9 different universities. Their role is to be the gatekeepers, ensuring only quality research is published.

Bio: Dr. Jyoti Sekhar Banerjee, B.Tech, M.E, Ph.D. (Engg.), is currently serving as the Head of the Department in the Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) Department at the Bengal Institute of Technology, Kolkata, India and visiting researcher (Post Doc) at Nottingham Trent University, UK.

Additionally, He is also the Professor-in-Charge, R & D and Consultancy Cell of BIT. He has teaching and research experience spanning 17 years and completed one IEI funded project. He also served many other reputed educational Institutes in India in various positions. He is a member of the IEEE, CSI, ISTE, IEI, ISOC, IAENG and fellow of IETE. He is the present honorary Secretary-cum-Treasurer, of the ISTE WB Section. He is the present honorary Secretary of the Computer Society of India, Kolkata Chapter. He is also the Execom Member of the IETE, Kolkata Centre. He has published over fifty papers in various international journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters. He worked as the Associate Editor in the Journal of Mechanics of Continua and Mathematical Sciences; now, he is the International Editorial Board member of JMCMS. He is the lead author of “A Text Book on Mastering Digital Electronics: Principle, Devices, and Applications”. He also filed two Indian patents. Bio: DR. MOUTUSHI SINGH received her B.E. (Hons.) degree in Information Technology from The University of Burdwan and M.Tech degree from the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, India. She received her Ph.D (Engg) degree in the field of Network Security from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. Currently she is working as Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology in Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata. Before joining IEM, she has also worked in The University Institute of Technology, The University of Burdwan. She has attended and received many certificates for outstanding performances in various Upskilling and Development Programs from different Organizations of National and International repute. She has authored several research papers in Technical Journals and referred conference proceedings and many Book Chapters. She has also edited a technical book named “The Essence of Network Security: An End-to-end Panorama” under the banner of Springer. Prof. (Dr.) Elizabeth Behrman

Bio: Elizabeth Behrman is a Professor of both Physics and Mathematics at Wichita State University in Wichita, KS, USA. She earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics at Brown, then her master’s, in chemistry, and her PhD, in physics, at the university of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

She was a postdoctoral researcher at SUNY Stony Brook, then held an assistant professorship in ceramic engineering at NYSCC for four years, before coming to Wichita State in 1990.She was promoted to associate in 1994 and to full in 2002. Professor Behrman's research interests and publications are broad, ranging from chemical kinetics and reaction pathways to ceramic superconductors to nuclear waste vitrification. She was the first to predict the stability of inorganic buckyballs and buckytubes,and among the first to design and computationally test models for quantum neural networks. Her major focus forseveral decades has been theoretical quantum computing, quantum information, and quantum control, particularly quantum machine learning and quantum AI. In this work, she is collaborating with colleagues in Mathematics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering,Industrial Engineering,and Chemistry, both at WSU and other universities.

Dr. Ivan Cruz-Aceves

Bio:Ivan received the M.S. degree in Computer Science in 2009 from Leon Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Guanajuato with Summa Cum Laude distinction in 2014. He joined the Department of Computer Science at the Centre for Research in Mathematics (CIMAT) in 2014 as part of the program “Investigadores por México” at the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT).

He is currently a full time researcher of Computer Science, and He is author of more than 30 international conference papers, 35 papers journals (JCR), international book chapters, and 10 transfer technologies to the medical area involving medical image processing and analysis. His areas of interest are Artificial Intelligence focused on stochastic and Evolutionary Computation with applications to medical image and video processing and analysis.

Bio: He received his M.S. degree and Ph.D. degree from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) in 2010 and in 2013.He was the Director of the Data Analysis Artificial Intelligence Laboratory– DAAI Lab, Thu Dau Mot University (2018-2021); Director of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory –AI Lab, Faculty of Information Technology, Ton Duc Thang University (2021-2022).

Now He works for the Data Science Laboratory, Data Science Department, Faculty of Information Technology, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh city. He has completed 2 projects and published 17 journals, 19 book chapters, 36 International conference papers, and 16 domestic conference papers. Bio: Sheng-Lung Peng is a Professor and the Director (Head) of the Department of Creative Technologies and Product Design, National Taipei University of Business, Taiwan. He received the BS degree in Mathematics from National Tsing Hua University, and the MS and PhD degrees in Computer Science from the National Chung Cheng University and National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, respectively.

He is an honorary Professor of Beijing Information Science and Technology University, China, and a visiting Professor of Ningxia Institute of Science and Technology, China. He is also an adjunct Professor of Mandsaur University and Kazi Nazrul University, India. He serves as the secretary general of the ICPC Contest Council for Taiwan and the regional director of the ICPC Asia Taoyuan site. He is a director of the Institute of Information and Computing Machinery and the Taiwan Association of Cloud Computing. He is also a supervisor of the Chinese Information Literacy Association and the Association of Algorithms and Computation Theory. Dr. Peng has edited several special issues at journals, such as Soft Computing, Journal of Internet Technology, Journal of Real-Time Image Processing, International Journal of Knowledge and System Science, MDPI Algorithms, and so on. Bio: Dr. Muhammad Mujtaba Asad is serving as an Assistant Professor and Lead Researcher of Educational Technologies and TVET Research Group at Sukkur IBA University. Dr Mujtaba has national and international working experience of more than 10 years at industrial and educational sector in the domain of Educational Technologies, Work & Product-Based Education and Technical and Vocational Education

Dr. Mujtaba has published more than Sixty (60) research articles (ISI & Scopus Indexed) in reputed international journals and conferences worldwide. Also, a book related to the observational skills of competent educators under the CS publishing house USA is in his publication credit. He has also received three Gold, one Silver and one Bronze medal in international research and development completions with seven best research awards in Malaysia, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and UAE on his commercialized projects. Bio: Mohamed Lahby is Associate Professor at the Higher Normal School (ENS) University Hassan II of Casablanca, Morocco. He was awarded a PhD in Computer Science from Faculty of Sciences and Technology of Mohammedia, University Hassan II of Casablanca, in 2013.

His research interests are wireless communication and network, mobility management, QoS/QoE, Internet of things, Smart cities, Optimization and Machine learning. He has published more than 40 papers (book chapters, international journals, and conferences), 4 edited book, and 1 authored book. He has served and continues to serve on executive and technical program committees of numerous international conferences such as IEEE PIMRC, ICC, NTMS, IWCMC, WINCOM, ISNCC. Bio:Dr. Abhishek Das is currently working as an Associate Professor and former Head in the Dept. of Computer Sc. & Engineering at Aliah University, Kolkata. His Research Area is in Medical Image Processing,
Machine Learning, Data Science, and IoT. He has received a Post-Doctoral
Research position from the University of West Scotland, UK by a Fellowship
received from the European Commission. He has also worked as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Information Technology, Tripura University ( A Central University), in India.

He has worked previously as a Reader in Computer Sc. & Engineering, at the Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology(IIST) and as Lecturer in Information Technology, at Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur (now IIEST Shibpur). His M.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Kansas State University, USA and his B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from Kalyani University, India. He has worked as a Business System Analyst in Blue Cross Blue Shield New York, USA & as a Quality Analyst in Vensoft Inc. Phoenix, USA and also as a Consultant Project Manager in the Software Industry. He is also a Visiting Scientist at Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. He has also worked in Technical Educational Administration as Regional Officer and Asst. Director (on deputation) at AICTE(under MHRD, Govt. of India). He is an NCERT National Scholar, in New Delhi and a Tilford Dow Scholar, the USA. His Biography has been published in the 28th edition of the National Dean's List, USA. He is a Fellow of IETE, Fellow of NBSP ( Regd. under Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India), Fellow of South Asian Chamber of Scientific Research & Development(SAIARD) (certified by MSME, Govt. of India) , Member of IEEE, Computer Society of India, ACM and an Honorary Senior Member of IACSIT Singapore. Bio:Ankan Bhattacharya obtained B. Tech. and M. Tech. degrees in Electronics & Communication Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata, India. He completed his Ph.D. at the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, India.

. He is the author of several research papers which have been published in many reputed Journals and Conferences at the National and International levels. Dr. Bhattacharya is a Life-Member of the Forum of Scientists, Engineers & Technologists (FOSET), a Member of the Institution of Engineers India (IEI), and a Member of the International Association of Engineers (IAENG). Dr. Sabyasachi Mondal

Bio: Currently, working as an Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics at Amity University Kolkata, India. He has completed my Ph.D. (Science) in Applied Mathematics from Visva-Bharati (A Central University), West Bengal, India. After completion of his Ph.D., he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He has more than 12 years teaching and 3 years post Ph.D. experiences.

He has received Claude Leon Foundation Fellowship and postdoctoral research fellowship from University of KwaZulu – Natal Postdoctoral during his postdoctoral research study in University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He has published more than 75 research articles, conference articles, book and book chapter in different reputed journals and conferences like International journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, International communication of Heat and Mass Transfer, PloS One, Non-linear Modelling and Control, International Journal of Computational Mathematics, Boundary Value Problems, Entropy and so on. Also, he is an active reviewer and editorial board members of many renowned international journals. His main research focus is to develop mathematical model of the real life problems and solve those problem using newly developed technique and analysis them. Also, he has research interest in Double-diffusive convection in different types of cavity, study of different types of Nanofluid flow, Stability analysis of fluid flow etc.
